Queen of Domestic Perfection

Photo from Martha Stewart Everyday Food
I just finished reading Martha Inc. by Christopher Byron. It was a biography of Martha Stewart. She may be mean as a snake but she gets what she wants, the way she likes it. She doesn't have a passion for domestic maintenance, she has a passion for money- she's capitalizing on "Feminine Knowledge". Her quote in her yearbook was "I do what I please, and I do it with ease".

Motivation

Motivation- the general desire or willingness of someone to do something.

I've been looking at helpful tips and articles from my blog posts and they all involve motivation. You can do anything if you are motivated- I need to bottle it up and sell it. Actually, I already do- I'm a professional organizer and housekeeper. Here are the topics I have been receiving:

1. Use a timer to stay focused and set limits on tasks
2. 5 steps to create new habits
3. Where to begin when decluttering and organizing
4. Match up your tasks to your natural energy level

Motorcycle Footwear

My boyfriend has a motorcycle and I constantly complain about not having proper footwear- I live in flip flops. I was planning on buying some boots in New York but that didn't happen. Here are a few I found online:

 Love them!

These are growing on me- now I have to check my wardrobe to see if they go with my outfits.

My New Trailer

So I have been talking about getting a new trailer for a while now. I went on Craigslist and fell in love with the grey/green one (above). I called yesterday and got no reply. I checked today and it was gone. So I looked at my other options:

 Eh? Boring.

So tired of the blue and grey ones- don't like the wheels.

Boring! Then I decided to go online and find a new one. Ta Da! I found one for $104.55 (includes shipping!) Black and White. Nice boxy shape and delivered to my door! Yipee!

Fancy!

Spice Storage

I was on The Kitchn blog and they had spice storage ideas. These are a few good ones: magnetic rack(above)

 Spice storage in printers' tray

Rack inside a cabinet door- love this!

Good Idea

Now I need to look for unique T-shirts at the thrift store. I may have to alter her design.

Happy 4th!

A room to be creative

Photos form Decor8
I was on Decor8 the other day and was looking at creative spaces. These are his and her sheds- they collect and restore vintage things from the UK and France.

I saw all of these handbags and had to check out their site- thebuckettree.bigcartel.com. It's good!

Below are items they resell on The Bucket Tree:

30's Fabric Bag

Enamel Soap Dish

70's French Sunglasses

Rabbit Nesting Dolls

50's Cotton Fabric
Sometimes I wonder why I don't resell items and then I remember that you need a place to store stuff, you need a shipping area, you need to make time daily to check your shop and update posts, and I think I would hold on to a lot more because it is "for the store"- I need a shed.
